Texas Biomed provides a range of internship and training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate level students. We welcome in-person and virtual college tours. Our Higher Ed team also robustly supports our community of trainees.
Higher Education
Student Externships
SNPRC provides students training in veterinary and veterinary technician programs the opportunity to participate in externships that can last from a couple of weeks to a full semester or more. Each externship is designed around each student’s needs and availability of veterinary staff for training during the requested time period. Texas Biomed is committed to educating the next generation of bioscience leaders and advocates. We offer innovative education programs for students at every grade level and professional development opportunities for teachers. We also provide internships and fellowships for undergraduates and graduate students.
Ultimately, we aim to educate and inspire so that all can appreciate how Health Starts with Science and help nurture the future scientists and STEM champions in our community.

K-12 Education
Our experienced, certified educators help students, teachers and the broader community learn about the fascinating research that happens at Texas Biomed and about the range of exciting careers that exist within science.
Texas Biomed collaborates with all 17 San Antonio school districts, including San Antonio ISD, Northside ISD, Judson ISD, Southwest ISD and CAST schools, as well as with public charter and magnet schools and private schools. We also offer virtual tours for those outside the region.
Collectively, our K-12 programs impact over 10,000 students annually.
K-12 Education
For Teachers
We incorporate current infectious disease research into innovative, hands-on resources at no cost for teachers. We also provide professional development programs for area teachers to strengthen the classroom through career connection.
